I always have a mixed reaction to “safety content,” even yours Mi Ae. “Yeah, yeah, I know, I know,” I say to myself. But I always read your stuff because I respect the way you approach it, and then today I found myself driving through a school zone and it was really easy to go slow. Your words stuck in my head. Keep up the good work!

That is wonderful to hear that this post made a difference! And I'm grateful for your candor regarding "safety content"—I often feel the same way, because it frequently seems lectur-y, superficial, and doesn't go beyond tired cliches. I love going deeper—much more interesting that way, and there really is so much more lurking beneath that surface.

Just having that data about the harm done to a person at different speeds really makes a difference! I mean, who wants to hurt another person? I know I don’t, sure not to save a couple seconds.

The data is pretty astonishing, isn't it? The difference of just 3 mph (20 and 23) increasing the likelihood of death by more than 5 percent especially got me.
